Hello Hello to the Abraham Owen Smoot Family!
We estimate that our Abraham Owen Smoot family is 16,000 to 18,000 members strong--which posterity also includes those who have married into the family.
In this exciting new year of 2025, we will celebrate both BYU's 150th Birthday and Abraham Owen Smoot's 210th Birthday!
During BYU Homecoming week starting Tuesday, October 14, 2025, we will gather as a family at BYU for a very special family reunion. At this reunion, in addition to celebrating Abraham Owen (born in 1815), we will also celebrate the amazing lives of his wives: Margaret, Emily, Diana, Anne and Caroline--whose valiant lives are very inspiring!
At this special reunion, we will enjoy family updates, a BYU Devotional, a family luncheon, historical tours, youth activities, excellent family classes and presentations, family photo, BYU vs Utah football game and documentaries of Abraham Owen's life.
If you haven't registered please go to "Register Today" and let us know about you. We are trying to find all of the descendants of A. O. Smoot born in, adopted in, or married in. Could you also send this on to your family members that haven't registered yet, we would be very grateful. This will allow us to email our family and keep everyone informed of events and learnings of the A. O. Smoot Family. Please bookmark this page for your reference.
At the reunion, we will be delighted to have present those valiant souls of the family’s 4th Generation. At the 2015 Reunion, we had one living member of the 3rd generation, Dona Faye Bott. The first generation is made up of Abraham Owen, Maragret, Emily, Diana, Anne and Caroline. Their children made up the 2nd Generation and the 3rdGeneration is made up of the 163 grandchildren. Dona Faye Bott, who has now passed away, is a member of that 3rd Generation. At the Reunion this coming October, we plan to honor and celebrate those of the 4th Generation still living.
Present at the reunion, we will also have members of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and the young and amazing 9th generation.
